Admission Criteria

Admission Criteria for FAST NUCES Lahore in 2024.

Eligibility:

- At least 60% marks in SSC (Matric) or an equivalent examination (such as O-levels) AND Should have studied for HSSC or an equivalent qualification, for at least two years ANDAt least 50% marks in HSSC or an equivalent qualification

Selection Criteria:

- 50% weight to marks obtained in Admission Test AND
- 10% weight of SSC (or an equivalent exam) AND
- 40% weight of HSSC (or an equivalent exam)
- Weightage of HSSC marks shall be calculated based on (whichever is applicable) at the time of compilation of merit list:

- HSSC part I and II OR
- HSSC part I if HSSC part II not available OR
- IBCC equivalence of A-level OR
- IBCC equivalence of O-level
- Candidates having taken NTS-NAT exam

Cut-off marks in the NTS-NAT IE, NAT ICS, NAT-ICOM or NAT-IGS exam to be determined by the University.

Merit Scholarships for Bachelor Students:

Awarded to the Top THREE position holders in each Group of each Examination Board.
Also offered to the top three position holders in the merit list of NU admission merit list.
Covers full tuition fee for four years of uninterrupted studies with a full course load.
Continuation subject to maintaining a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.

HEC Scholarships for MS and PhD students:

Provided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for MS and PhD degrees.
Covers tuition fee, monthly stipend, and book allowance.

Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) Scholarships:

42 scholarships offered to indigent students with Punjab domicile.
Covers a portion of the tuition fee, with the remaining as Qarz-e-Hasna by the University.

Sindh Government Endowment Board Scholarships:

Scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate studies for Karachi campus students.
Covers full tuition fee for the program's entire duration, renewable annually.
Quota: 60% for rural sector students, 40% for urban sector students.
Approximately 25 new scholarships offered each year.

Baluchistan Government Endowment Board Scholarship:

Scholarships for Karachi campus students based on need-cum-merit.
Covers full tuition fee for the program's entire duration, renewable annually.

OSAF Financial Assistance (Study Loan):

Arranges financial assistance for students who cannot afford full fee payment.

Other Scholarships:

Various community-based scholarships offered by committees and foundations.
Examples: Memon Community Scholarships, Bohra Community Scholarships, INFAQ Foundation Scholarships, Agha Khan Foundation Scholarships, etc.
Limited numbers of scholarships provided by Alumni Association, Hindu Community, and Agha Khan Foundation for Karachi campus.

Assistantships:

Students may be compensated for their services in the University's different activities.

Bank Loans:

PICIC Commercial Bank, NIB Bank, Bank Alfalah, Bank Islami, and MCB offer loans to students.

Study Loan:

- Interest-free study loans for bright indigent students.
- Assistance limited to tuition fee, subject to renewal based on academic performance.
Loan recipients must take a full course load.
- Repayment starts three months after graduation or upon getting employment.
- Total amount must be repaid within four years after graduation.
- Contract allows future employers to deduct loan repayments at the source and remit it to the University.
