NAT is a competence test conducted by NTS. NAT scores are used by many Pakistani institutions as an assessment criteria factor for admission in Bachelor and Master level programs.
The National Aptitude Test (NAT) is for admissions to NTS Associated Universities. The candidates will appear in a single test only and will stand eligible for admission to all NTS-associated universities in the respective subject group.
Why NAT is important for students seeking admission to Universities?
Many universities and higher education institutions in Pakistan require potential students to submit NAT scores as part of their admissions process. These scores serve as an objective measure of a student's aptitude and preparedness for higher education. Students who perform well on the NAT can increase their chances of achieving admission to renowned institutions and programs.
What is the minimum score for qualifying NAT and does that guarantee admission in any university?
NAT test is for about 100 marks and the minimum score to qualify for NAT is 50%.
Every institution has its evaluation criteria for admission and scholarship awards. So passing the NAT only does not guarantee admission to any university. Generally, the score in NAT is used on a qualified basis, that is, a test taker with a higher score in NAT is preferred for admission if other criteria of evaluation are also met. You must prepare for the test for a higher score.
What is the validity period of NAT?
Once the NAT test has been passed, the test result will remain valid for 1 year from the test date. The students may use the result for 1 year to apply for admission to any university. In this period of one year, the student may appear in the test again.
Can an applicant take NAT more than once?
Yes, the candidates who are aiming to improve their previous NAT score can also apply for the test again. This ensures an increase in their criteria. In this way, they get more chance to apply for the trending field.
What is the format of NAT?
The test format of NAT is based on 100 marks. There are a total of 90 multiple-choice questions. The test format of NAT consists of four parts which are as follows.
· Quantitative Ability: This part consists of basic mathematical questions. It consists of 20 MCQs.
· Analytical Ability: This part consists of questions related to analytics. These questions are quite tricky but once the student gets hold of their logic then these are a piece of cake for them. It also consists of 20 MCQs.
· Verbal Ability: These questions are based on English grammar and vocabulary. This part is based on 20 multiple-choice questions.
· Subject Ability: These questions are further divided into the subjects referred to which the students have applied for the test. This part has 30 mcqs in total 10 mcqs for each subject.
Is there any minimum qualification criterion for taking NAT?
Candidates with a minimum of 12 years of education are eligible to apply for and appear in NAT-I. Candidates with a minimum of 14 years of education are eligible to apply for and appear in NAT-II.
Which universities accept the NAT test?
Many universities accept NATs other than their internal tests. Here is the list of some universities that accept NAT.
