The Graduate Assessment Test is a systematic assessment test designed to figure out an individual's aptitude or ability in various areas such as intellectual skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and subject-specific knowledge. The Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) is for admissions to NTS Associated Universities. The candidates will appear in a single test only and will stand eligible for admission to all NTS-associated universities in the respective subject group.

Why GAT is important for students seeking admission to Universities?

Many universities and higher education institutions in Pakistan require potential students to submit GAT scores as part of their admissions process. These scores serve as an objective measure of a student's aptitude and preparedness for higher education. Students who perform well on the GAT can increase their chances of achieving admission to renowned institutions and programs.

What is the minimum score for qualifying GAT and does that guarantee admission in any university?

The GAT test is for about 100 marks and the minimum score to qualify for GAT is 60%.

Every institution has its evaluation criteria for admission and scholarship awards. So, passing the GAT only does not guarantee admission to any university. Generally, the score in GAT is used on a qualified basis, that is, a test taker with a higher score in GAT is preferred for admission if other criteria of evaluation are also met. You must prepare for the test for a higher score.

What is the validity period of GAT?

Once the GAT test has been passed, the test result will remain valid for 2 year from the test date. The students may use the result for 2 year to apply for admission to any university. In this period of one year, the student may appear in the test again.

Can an applicant take the GAT  more than once?

Yes, the candidates who are aiming to improve their previous GAT scores can also apply for the test again. This ensures an increase in their criteria. In this way, they get more chance to apply for the trending field.

What is the format of GAT?

The test format of the GAT is based on 100 marks. There are a total of 100 multiple-choice questions. The test format of GAT consists of four parts which are as follows.

Quantitative Reasoning: This part consists of basic mathematical questions. It consists of 35 MCQs.

Analytical Reasoning:  This part consists of questions related to analytics. These questions are quite tricky but once the student gets hold of their logic then these are a piece of cake for them. It also consists of 30 MCQs.
